How do you feel about this story? Would you recommend it to someone else?
I liked the story and think that almost everyone in high school should read it. I think this because it has some major themes in it such as courage, growing up, and prejudice. Courage and growing up are some major themes of life.
Would you like to read something else by this author?
Not unless it sounded really interesting because the way Harper Lee writes her books. She writes using a southern diction that I don't like. The way she writes makes it hard for me to read and stay interested in the book.
How are you different from one of the characters?
I am different than Boo Radley because I am not as shy as he was and I wouldn't be able to stay at my parents house my whole life.
Was there a character that you didn't like? Why didn't you like this character?
Yes I didn't like Bob Ewelle because he tried to kill Scout and Jem to get revenge at Atticus for supporting Tom Robinson in the rape case.
Do any of the characters change in the story?
Boo Radley changes because he finally comes out of his house and becomes less mysterious as the story goes on. He saves Scout and Jem when they are being attacked.
How might the story be different if it had happened in a different time period?
If the story had happened in the present then the racism and the prejudice probably wouldn't have occurred. the whole plot would change if it was in a different time period.
What do you think was the best part of the story?
The part where Scout and Jem were being attacked by Bob Ewelle. I think this because this part of the story has a lot of action in it and is a big part of the plot.
What specific themes did the author emphasize throughout the novel?
Harper Lee emphasized prejudice, courage, freedom, equality, and growing up. She emphasized prejudice and equality with Tom Robinson's case.
